Technical Architect

Role Overview:

A Technical Architect is responsible for partnering with our clients and delivery teams to define, develop, and implement technology solutions that are both innovative and cost-effective, ensuring the highest levels of business efficiency through Architecture best practices including encapsulation and reuses. The Technical Architect generally operates as part of a project team; focusing on the technical design and build of the overall solution and ensuring seamless integration of any custom elements. The Technical Architect maintains a relevant and deep technology skill set, obtaining certifications as necessary and adhering to industry technology standards. A Technology Architect is responsible for the successful implementation of effective technology solutions, ensuring solution quality, business acceptance, and effective transition to support. A Technical Architect is responsible for maturing the Bolt Data technology practice; enabling Bolt Data to deliver work smarter.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establish effective working relationships with key client and project team stakeholders
  • Communicate and manage expectations regarding delivery updates, risks, issues, and opportunities with key stakeholders
  • Lead Requirements Gathering and Solution Design activities; influencing decisions regarding effectiveness, dependability, flexibility, scalability, supportability, and total cost of platforms and supporting technologies
  • Partner with Solution Architect to develop technical specifications for custom development and system integration requirements, including estimations for delivery time, cost, and resources
  • Develop detailed technical design documents that align to solution design specifications
  • Liaise between clients, project leads, and other delivery teams (including vendors) to communicate status, drive delivery performance, manage risks, and remove barriers
  • Lead technology design, configuration, and development activities, including database and environment migrations, across multiple projects; ensuring adherence to development standards, alignment to technical specifications, and delivery to agreed timelines
  • Document final solution and lead knowledge transition to client support team
  • Work with project team to develop and validate estimates to support any Change Orders
  • Contribute to estimating and SOW templates for future phases
  • Follow and help define coding standards. Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate design patterns are followed
  • Coach and mentor junior technical and functional team members

 

Professional Capabilities:

  • 8+ years of hands-on technical experience with Salesforce.com implementations with a minimum of 5 enterprise level technology projects
  • 8+ years of experience in software implementations with one or more Customer Relationship Management Solution (such as Oracle, SalesForce.com, SAP, Siebel, or other CRM software). Configuration experience is a must
  • 4+ years working within the Salesforce ecosystem as a Technical Architect
  • Expert level understanding of the Salesforce product suite, including Sales, Service, Marketing, Health, Government and/or Experience Clouds
  • Expert level experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
  • Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating Salesforce with different business systems (ETL, CPQ, marketing automation, reporting, etc.)
  • Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth)
  • Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume limitations and best practices
  • Understanding of data sharing and visibility considerations and how these play into platform architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science and demonstrated experience in computer operations, system analysis, programming, project implementations and technical management
  • Field service experience; including customer service management and call center support
  • Demonstrated understanding of one or more industry-standard architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DODAF, FEAF, Gartner/Meta, etc.)
  • Experience with configuring and developing the SFDC toolkit (e.g., Lightning Web Components, Visual force, Apex, S-controls, Triggers, Chatter, Apex Data Loader, Apex Explorer, etc.)
  • Experience with key software development and integration technologies (e.g., APIs, APEX, Force.com, .Net, Java and JavaScript, XML, Web Services, HTML, SSO, data loaders, messaging, etc.)
  • Experience with RDMS concepts and structures, knowledge of SQL, structured system analysis and design methods, data migration, etc.
  • Experience with system integrations, preferably involving Salesforce and MuleSoft
  • Ability to migrate configurations and code between environments using industry standard tools
  • Experience with software delivery lifecycle methodologies (e.g., Agile) and project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK) with the ability to manage multiple projects to aggressive timelines
  • Understand SFS resource management, contractors, timesheets, operating hours, shifts, primary and secondary territory setup. inventory management (return, request & track)
  • Experience working independently and within a cross-functional and cross-vendor team environment; collaborating effectively, creating consensus, and driving outcomes
  • Support Bolt Data Sales activities
  • Support Bolt Data practice maturation and internal initiatives as required
  • Participate in Peer Reviews of colleague’s solution designs
  • Mentoring more junior team members in business analysis, project management, and Salesforce.com best practices.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with client and project team as needed
