IoT Developer Intern

Duration: 10 weeks (June 10, 2024 - August 16, 2024)

Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Location: Remote in United States

Compensation: $25 per hour (Paid Internship)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient intern to join our IoT development team. The intern will work on developing new features and integrating IoT devices using Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically focusing on Greengrass and IoT Core, among other technologies. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IoT development, cloud services, and scalable architecture design.

Bolt Data Connect is our cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) Field Service solution, built on AWS and Salesforce. Our custom IoT Edge Hardware, IoT Gateway Stack IoT Cloud, and Field Service Integration solutions optimize field service workflows through performance monitoring, remote diagnostics and control, advanced data analytics, easy automation, machine learning, and product servitization. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Demos using our Salesforce App and IoT Cloud
  • Design and implement new IoT features and services using AWS (Greengrass, IoT Core) and other cloud-based tools.
  • Develop and test code in Python and TypeScript, ensuring high quality and scalability.
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate IoT devices and services seamlessly.
  • Assist in the deployment and management of IoT solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from concept to deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IoT devices and cloud services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in programming with Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Basic understanding of IoT concepts, device integration, and cloud computing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with AWS services, specifically Greengrass and IoT Core.
  • Prior experience or projects involving IoT devices and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages or AWS services is a plus.
  • Machine Learning (M/L) Experience, Time-series data analytics
  • Embedded / Edge Device Development Experience, Frameworks, and Protocols

This internship opportunity is available within the United States and is classified as a 1099 contractor position. Please note that as a 1099 contractor, individuals are responsible for their own taxes and do not receive benefits typically associated with full-time employment.
