Project Manager
Role Overview:
A Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a project, or specified project component when working within a larger project structure. The Project Manager will develop comprehensive project proposals in response to client requests for support; focused on understanding client needs and constraints, defining scope and deliverables, creating timelines, managing the resource forecast, holding team members accountable for achieving forecasts and determining the costs and resources required to meet client expectations. The Project Manager will mobilize and manage high-performing project teams; ensuring the pre-requisite skills are available to deliver project commitments. The Project Manager will develop, gain consensus upon, and execute project plans to agreed cost, quality, and timelines, including the management of risks and issues. The Project Manager will manage client stakeholders, setting and managing client expectations through effective communications. The Project Manager will ensure project benefits are clearly defined and realized in alignment with the client business case for change.
Role Responsibilities:
- Establish effective working relationships with key client and project team stakeholders
- Communicate and manage expectations regarding delivery updates, risks, issues, and opportunities with key stakeholders
- Facilitate/Lead workshops to define project objectives, success criteria, scope, exclusions, timelines, methods/standards, individual roles and responsibilities, and project steering/governance
- Establish and facilitate project meetings to remain current on delivery status, position upcoming activities, and manage risks; documenting and communicating key messages for stakeholders
- Ensure functional requirements and solution designs are developed in alignment with industry standards, meets business requirements, and has been accepted by the key stakeholders
- Ensures adherence to the Bolt Data methodology and possesses the ability to assess risks in process, people, or technology and adjusts project plans to address accordingly.
- Ensure that the change control mechanism is clearly communicated and managed appropriately with the client.
- Liaise between clients, delivery teams (including vendors) to drive delivery performance, manage risks, and remove barriers
- Contributes domain expertise (in addition to project management) in multiple areas such as business analysis, vertical or horizontal domain expertise, Agile development practices, Salesforce cloud offerings, etc.
- Ensure client opportunities to iteratively review and steer interim project deliverables
- Manage scope change; ensuring changes are governed for design and commercially reflected
- Ensure final solution documentation is completed and lead knowledge transition to client support team
- Ensure client acceptance and sign-off of key project milestones and deliverables
- Ensure key project assets are preserved for future leveraging
- Provides mentoring, guidance and general care and feeding to project team members, including offshore team members and other Project Managers.
- Ensure forecasts are accurate and up to date
- Ensure team members are aware of their forecasts and billing to those forecasts
Professional Capabilities:
- Experience managing a remote consulting group
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and automation
- Experience with SFDC administration and implementation
- Proficient in data manipulation (Excel, Access, Google Analytics, etc)
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Outstanding written, presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team on multiple projects
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 8+ years experience successfully leading projects using a structured approach (e.g., PMP, Prince2, SAFE/Agile)
- 5+ years of Salesforce implementation experience utilizing proven project management processes and framework
- Experience leading Salesforce.com projects or other CRM software (Siebel, Clarify, Vantiv, Peoplesoft, NetSuite, RightNow, etc.)
- Experience managing projects with large enterprise initiatives
- Proven ability to manage budgets for projects greater than $500K
- Experience estimation/sizing, SOW/Change Order contracting
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or otherwise relevant subject
- Project Management certification (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification)
- Field service experience; including customer service management and call center support
- Demonstrable experience managing medium to large-sized teams of cross discipline resources with complex, multi-location programs while maintaining budget
- Strong analytical and reporting skills – ability to decipher project health/issues through hard and soft metrics before they become major issues
- Experience managing customer relationships; including critical communications and influencing
- Experience working independently and within a cross-functional and cross-vendor team environment; collaborating effectively, creating consensus, and driving outcomes
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally with client and project team as needed.
